Our Story
Born from our own bird parenting experience
Perch Care started from the founder's personal experience raising pet parrots. Over the past four years of raising four lovebirds and one Java sparrow, we went through countless trials and errors.
We lost two birds due to unsafe toys and nests bought online. This painful experience left us with a fundamental question: "Why do these problems keep happening?"
We also learned too late that a sunflower seed-heavy diet could cause serious health problems. After a veterinarian's diagnosis, we changed the diet and developed a daily health check routine through weight tracking and keel bone palpation.
The most important lesson from earning a Level 1 Companion Bird Care Manager certification was that "parrots have a strong instinct to hide their pain to protect themselves from predators." That's why early detection through daily records of weight, droppings, and food intake is essential — not just visual observation.
Perch Care was born from these repeated experiences. Our goal is to simultaneously solve health management, access to reliable information, and knowledge gaps — providing bird owners with better support and giving pet birds a healthier, safer environment.
